Western Arkansas Counseling and Guidance Center, Inc (The Guidance Center)

Western Arkansas Counseling and Guidance Center is popularly known as The Guidance Center. This network has a series of locations with one clinic based in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This is a community health center that enhances the health of adults and children. This licensed and accredited entity offers a broad range of services that target mental health conditions and substance use disorders.

They provide individual counseling, group therapy, case management services and DSEAP for justice-involved clients. What stands out most to us about The Guidance Center is their inclusion of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to support you.

MAT in the Six‐County Region

Through the use of safe medications, you can work with a care team to safely withdraw from substances. This intervention is also useful in helping prevent relapse once clients progress in treatment. Mental health counseling is a key component of MAT to address your emotional health as it tends to play a role in your choices and substance use.

Payment and Insurance Options

The Guidance Center accepts Medicare and Arkansas Medicaid. They take private health insurance plans under certain conditions and extend options for self-pay. Clients with extenuating financial circumstances may be eligible for discounts and sliding fee scales to help mitigate your cost.
