About Antelope Valley Rehabilitation Centers
Antelope Valley Rehabilitation Centers was a mental health and substance use disorder treatment facility for adults. It was located in Acton, California. It’s now permanently closed but there are still many other treatment centers in the area that can offer help.
Services for Diverse Populations in Southern California
I noticed that this facility wanted to help a diverse group of people who needed help without being judged. They worked with victims of child abuse and provided services for people with substance use disorder. They also helped people who had HIV or AIDS.
Emergency Care with a Dedicated Helpline
This facility had a 24 hour substance abuse hotline that could be called to get help. This was part of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.
Several former clients have said that this place was an important part of their recovery journey. Other former clients have said that this place saved their life. They noted that the counselors here really cared and brought in personal knowledge and experience. That made the counseling and advice more relevant to the clients going through the same issues that the counselors once went through. I think this is an important component of recovery.
