About Alternatives in Treatment Inc

Alternatives in Treatment is a now closed substance abuse clinic. It was located near the Atlantic coast in Boca Raton, Florida, on the North Federal Highway. They were open from 1990 for about ten years. They accepted many different insurance carriers to pay for treatment.

I appreciate that they focused on whole person holistic treatments that took into account a person’s spiritual, physical and psychological needs. They provided group therapy, 12 Step meetings and individual counseling.

Alternatives in Treatment had an 8-acre campus in West Palm Beach that was a residential facility with premium living accommodations. The Boca Raton location was their south campus. This was a step down from their more intensive north campus. This seemed like a well thought out system for wholesome care to me.

Clients learned to put into action the skills they learned in residential care. The Boca Raton campus offered outpatient programs and gendered transitional living facilities. You’d learn how to live independently while still having peers and staff support nearby.

Clients would learn life skills, relapse prevention and learn how to transition back to the community. I think it’s smart that clients were encouraged to attend 12 Step meetings like AA or NA to support their recovery.

Alternatives in Treatment was accredited by CARF and had a multidisciplinary team of clinical practitioners.

Even though they’re now closed, there are other agencies nearby who can assist you.
