CBT helps you focus on how your thoughts and actions are connected and how you can improve the quality of your thought patterns to be more positive. You’ll work on changing negative beliefs and attitudes that may contribute to your substance use.
Dialectical behavior therapy helps with emotional regulation while improving your mindfulness, stress tolerance and interpersonal communication. You’ll accept and understand why you need to make significant changes in your life.
You’ll engage in individual and group counseling to help you gain insight into the underlying causes of your addiction. You’ll work to build more effective coping skills while managing your negative emotions so you won’t feel the need to turn to substances to relieve your uncomfortable feelings.
