About All Walks of Life

All Walks of Life in Baltimore, Maryland, is an urban health clinic that provides mental health, addiction treatment, and medical care. They offer holistic and culturally aware care for adults and children, addressing not only behavioral health but also other factors that impact health and wellness.

It Takes a Village Centered Treatment for Holistic Care in Baltimore

The most unique aspect of this clinic that I noticed is their “VIllage Centered Treatment” approach. The idea is that it “takes a village” — or a variety of professionals and personal support people — to ensure that everyone maintains their best life.

They work with each client’s support system and community to address the aspects of life that impact substance use and mental health. They look at not only the factors impacting well being but also the barriers to care, which I thought was important. They work with a network of partners in the community to provide support in areas such as nutrition, housing, employment and other essential needs.

They use evidence based treatment options along with this comprehensive approach to ensure that each person is given the best chance at maintaining strong mental health and sobriety.

Therapy is For Everyone at All Walks of Life

All Walks of Life works hard to remove the stigma from therapy and treatment. They point out that everyone can benefit from therapy, which can address everything from trauma and grief to struggling to stay focused or feeling overwhelmed with life.

They offer a wide range of services, including counseling for substance use disorders, psychiatric rehabilitation for adults and children with chronic psychiatric problems and individual and group therapy.

One of their unique services is the outpatient mental health clinic for children and youth in grades 1-12. This clinic provides not only in-office care but also has home visits and in school treatment sessions. This allows them to help young people in the settings where they live and are most likely to experience challenges.

It also helps that kids and teens can unwind off-site at local attractions. All Walks of Life is two block over from Calvert Street Park. They can also do a little history sightseeing at the grave of John Wilkes Booth a bit farther to the south.
