About Alianza of New Mexico

Alianza of New Mexico has a mission to empower the underserved populations in the local community through education and supportive services. They offer harm reduction services, HIV and overdose prevention services, and housing support. They have two locations, including one site in Roswell, New Mexico. It’s not too far from Melendez Park.

Their harm reduction services provide appropriate services to folks who inject substances. They offer a syringe exchange program for folks to dispose of used ones and get clean syringes.

Alianza also introduces the medication assisted treatment (MAT) process to healthcare providers. They talk to healthcare providers about the DEA-X waiver’s benefits for the public and promote how MAT has been proven to reduce emergency room visits and opioid overdoses. Substance users can also learn about different treatment options, including MAT, and where they can go for them.

Their overdose prevention program includes training on Narcan. They teach people how to recognize someone who might be having an overdose. Training on providing care, rescue breathing, and more are part of this program. Clients will get free Narcan to keep if needed as part of their training.

Alianza’s HIV prevention program aims to help folks who are HIV positive prevent new infections, become more educated and have the support they need. They also offer rapid HIV, hepatitis C and syphilis test results while you wait. They also provide services that go hand-in-hand with primary medical care. If you don’t have enough healthcare coverage, this program bridges the gaps to the care you need.

They also help clients across New Mexico find housing opportunities. This state and federal program helps qualifying clients apply for assistance to find steady and suitable housing.
