About Alcoholism & Addiction Assistance Association

Alcoholism and Addiction Assistance Association Craig Shells New Solution is located in Phoenix, Arizona. They have been helping people recover from addiction since 1968. While they were initially a site for men only, this location now offers transitional housing for both men and women.

Living and Working in a Transitional Space

This program is meant for people who recently completed an inpatient rehabilitation program and need a transition before returning to live at home. In this space, you can continue working through a 12 Step program while going to work. I appreciate that they help you with finding employment and volunteer opportunities nearby. They also support you by providing transportation and two meals each day.

They want to give you as much freedom as possible while guiding you to sobriety. That means you can come and go as you wish. This can be a great environment and adjustment to the outside world after inpatient care. However, I would only suggest it if you are in a stage of recovery where you can handle that freedom responsibly.

Learning to Live Outside Care

Patients meet for 12 Step programs both on and off the housing site. Programs offered include Alcoholics Anonymous as well as groups focused on cocaine, meth, and heroin. By attending meetings both on and off-site, participants begin to integrate back into normal life.
