About Alamo Area Resource Center Mental Health Services
Alamo Area Resource Center supports people living with HIV/AIDS and is a leader in offering LBGTQ+ health and social services to San Antonio, Texas and nearby counties. They offer one-on-one counseling focusing on substance abuse as well as for individuals and families grappling with an HIV diagnosis. I like that they offer mental health Services both in person and virtually.
I love that this center provides health insurance assistance. This program helps folks pay for medical care and insurance co-pays so they can continue their treatment. They also feature co-pays or monthly insurance fees so that people with HIV can continue their medical care.
Their mental health services help you get proactive skills to deal with your life. Whether your HIV/AIDS diagnosis is new or not, their counselors can help you manage your mental health. They offer both individual and group sessions. They also have psychiatry options that use medication to stabilize mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. When you come to the clinic for your initial appointment, you’ll have a mental health assessment and/or substance abuse assessment.
