About Akeela Inc

Akeela’s House is located in Anchorage, Alaska. They provide a range of services to 48 adults with substance use disorders. They also have a specialized residential treatment program for women and their children that lasts 12-18 weeks. They’ll allow you to receive comprehensive addiction treatment without having to be apart from your children.

When you start treatment here, you'll work with an intake team that will thoroughly evaluate your circumstances. You'll work with clinicians including contract psychiatrists and dedicated counselors to come up with a treatment plan to fit your needs.

You’ll participate in individual and group counseling sessions. You’ll learn critical recovery skills such as how to manage stressful emotions and how to identify triggers associated with addiction use.

There are also other programs offered. For example you'll get connected to community service that will best support you. In 12 Step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, you can connect with peers and mentors. These individuals can also serve as a pillar of support that you can lean on during the difficult parts of your recovery

If you need a more flexible approach to care, you can enroll in outpatient treatment programs that use play therapy to help you and your family. They can also help out if you need legal assistance for addiction-related family court or child custody issues.
