About The Agape Network
The Agape Network is a faith based treatment center located in Miami, Florida. They provide supportive services and programs to children, women and families who have been affected by substance abuse disorders and mental health conditions.
The founder Jose E. Hernandez was a corrections and rehabilitation chaplain. He originally began by providing spiritual support, counseling, and guidance for those who were incarcerated. In 1983, after reading a tragic story about violence against women, he became motivated to develop the Agape Network. Since then he has expanded the Agape team and now provides a multitude of services and programs to help heal, guide, and provide support to women, children, and families.
Miami has some of the most breathtaking views, comfortable weather, and culturally diverse neighborhoods in the country. Here, they offer various activities and attractions that make excellent options for sober recreation. Food tours, sightseeing cruises, everglades airboat tours, museums, restaurants, historic sites and zoos are just some of the things you can enjoy. This can be a great way for you to get acclimated with the area and bond with your peers while you are receiving addiction treatment services.
Their residential program is located on six acres and the newly renovated campus offers spiritual wellness and behavioral treatment. A few services they offer are medication-assisted treatment (MAT), peer support, parenting education and training, primary care, comprehensive assessments, trafficking and domestic violence recovery, psychiatric services and infant and child mental healthcare.
What really sticks out to me is their Children of Inmates program. It can be overwhelming and stressful trying to keep your family as a unit when one parent is incarcerated. This program offers support to both the child and the caretakers through services like in-home visits, counseling and case management.
Their Mommy and Me program assists both the child and mother who are dealing with the effects of chemical dependency and dual diagnosis. This program was developed to reconnect mothers with their children, offering treatment to reduce the risks of you or a loved one losing custody of the child. This can be a great way for you to develop healthier parenting techniques, gain coping skills and give your child the opportunity to receive healing.
