About New Journey Methadone Clinic and Suboxone Clinic

New Journey is an outpatient opioid treatment clinic in Annapolis, Maryland. They’ve been serving this community for over 10 years to help community residents and folks from nearby cities achieve complete healing and general wellbeing through medication assisted treatment (MAT). They accept Maryland Medicaid.

Many past patients have beautiful things to say about this clinic. These range from their caring and highly efficient staff to their tailored and professional approach to care. What I find super appealing though is their clean and conducive outpatient settings and easily accessible location.

Opioid Recovery near Downtown Annapolis

They’re situated on Defense Street in Parole, just off West Street, about 2.5 miles west of downtown Annapolis. Their location near the city center facilitates easy access via private and public transportation.
Annapolis Transit services the region with the Gold and Green bus Routes linking various cities. The US Route 50 and Maryland Route 450 offer direct access to the clinic when driving from nearby cities like Bowie.

The clinic is within three to six miles of Truxtun Park, Quiet Waters Park and the US Naval Academy. These exciting attractions are worth exploring for fun or therapeutic benefits.

Opioid Recovery with Same-Day Admission and Dosing

Intakes happen Monday through Friday as early as 5:00 AM. It’s worth calling them to ask specific questions about the intake process or speak with their addiction specialist. Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by an amazing staff who genuinely want to help.

They’ll assess your need for MAT and will create a tailored care plan to guide your recovery. This plan will include the specific meds for your unique case, the dosage and the frequency of counseling. Dosing is administered the same day, marking the beginning of your recovery journey.

Suboxone and Methadone Maintenance Treatment

Medication assisted treatment is a tried and trusted approach to opioid use recovery that is backed by research. The technique uses FDA-approved methadone or Suboxone, depending on your tailored care plan. These eliminate painful withdrawal symptoms and curb physiological cravings. That is they tackle the physical symptoms of your opioid addiction.

Medication is paired with counseling and psychosocial support. The clinic offers individual and group counseling to tackle psychological symptoms of opioid use. Counseling enables you to uncover the root causes of your opioid use and build strong coping skills to prevent relapse.

The program includes urinalysis drug screening to monitor progress and compliance with treatment guidelines.

New Journey also offers Suboxone and methadone detoxification. Detox is a short term procedure that can last between 24 hours to about five days. The meds help you gradually wean off addiction toxins from your body under the supervision of physicians.

This is often followed by the maintenance treatment, which is a long term treatment focused on abstinence. Methadone maintenance treatment can last from six months to up to two years. Suboxone maintenance treatment is significantly shorter.

New Journey’s full spectrum of services includes family/relationship counseling and referral to community services. This may include social services like housing, employment assistance and medical care.
