About ACASA Trapping Brook House

The Trapping Brook House is a men’s halfway house with 17 beds in Wellsville, New York. They prepare men for reentry into the community after high intensity substance use treatment. It’s a great place to build a stable and healthy life before moving forward. Emphasis is on independent living, personal responsibility and accountability.

You’ll get support with job skills, family connections, and building social skills. This helps you build healthy routines that support your recovery. It also makes it easier to handle life’s ups and downs.
You’ll work with a counselor to set goals and tackle personal issues. Your primary counselor will monitor your recovery progress and provide counseling support as needed. They can even make referrals to appropriate agencies as necessary.

You’ll also participate in weekly therapy groups, resident house meetings and self help groups. This is a great avenue to share your story and learn from others facing similar challenges. It’s a good way to build a strong support network that’ll keep you motivated throughout your recovery. You’ll feel seen, heard and less lonely in recovery.

You’re expected to actively participate in community activities and help out with daily chores around the house. These can help you build character and a sense of responsibility. These qualities are important to maintaining a sober lifestyle.

You must also follow the house rules regarding personal cleanliness and treating others with mutual respect. Alcohol and drugs are disallowed on and off campus during your stay in the facility. Their clinic team carries out random urine screens, mouth swabs and breath testing regularly to ensure compliance.

I really like how their staff genuinely supports clients in recovery. They’re skilled at providing care that truly respects and honors your cultural background. You’re sure to get quality care and ongoing support from referrals to successful completion.

Their case management services involve connections to community resources that support your recovery efforts. These include job placement, permanent housing and medical care. The length of stay depends on your unique conditions and recovery progress. The program is certified by the State of New York Office of Addiction Services and Support.
