About Abraxas Ohio

Abraxas Ohio is located in Shelby, Ohio. This is a drug rehab and recovery facility that serves males aged 12 to 21 years old. They provide a range of services that meet your behavioral healthcare needs including a co-occurring substance use disorder program. In addition to residential treatment, there's also a substance use intensive outpatient program (IOP) and a partial hospitalization program (PHP) if you need more flexible access to care. This location also operates as an emergency placement unit.

Care is individualized to meet your recovery needs. Diagnostic assessments and evaluations are implemented to create your treatment plan. There are a host of evidence-based therapies that are offered here to help get you on the path to recovery as well. Cognitive behavioral therapies are applied in both group and individual settings. Through this, you'll learn critical coping skills and life skills that will minimize your risk of relapse.

You'll work with an integrative care team which may include psychiatrists, psychologists and drug and alcohol counselors. Depending on your circumstances, medical evaluations may take place and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) may be implemented into your recovery plan.

Crisis intervention is available as needed and life skills education and family counseling are offered here as well. You’ll also have access to a case manager to make sure you get appropriate treatment. Any aftercare support that is needed will be made accessible to you.

As an educator, I also appreciate that there's an on-site educational curriculum that's accredited and licensed by the state's Department of Education. High school students working through this program can obtain their diploma or GED. In addition, 504 plans for behavioral health needs are implemented through the school system
