About Zumbro Valley Health Center
Rochester, Minnesota, is the state’s third most populous city and was originally a stagecoach stop between Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Dubuque, Iowa. Today, it’s home to a beautiful art center overlooking the Zumbro River, and you’ll also find the main campus of Zumbro Valley Health Center here.
The Center provides medical detox, outpatient mental health and addiction treatment, DUI classes, medication assisted treatment (MAT) and aftercare support. They accept a range of insurance plans and have a sliding fee scale for residents of Olmsted County, which includes Rochester.
Detox and Addiction Treatment in Rochester
The detox program helps adolescents and adults move safely through the withdrawal symptoms that often happen when you stop substance use. You receive medical care and monitoring and can stay for up to 72 hours.
The treatment program delivers evidence based individual and group therapy. You can also incorporate MAT if appropriate. One thing that caught my eye is the wide range of groups available. Many of them meet at the Northgate office rather than the main campus.
You can go to groups focused on co-occurring disorders, DUI education, mindfulness, MAT, the basics of addiction recovery, how addiction affects your life and how to create a value system that supports long term recovery.
Community Support Services for Recovery
I noticed that the Zumbro Valley Health Center provides a variety of support services for those in recovery. They can connect you with supportive or transitional housing, peer support and employment services.
The team also provides case management so you can connect with community resources and social services that can become part of your sober support network. This’ll make it easier to sustain recovery.
