About Youth Outreach Services (Austin office)

Youth Outreach Services Austin Office is located in Chicago, Illinois. They’re a nonprofit organization helping youths and their families deal with abuse, substance use and homelessness. They work with counseling, juvenile justice, prevention services and children’s welfare.

Substance Use Prevention

Their substance use prevention program is geared toward stopping first uses of alcohol or other drugs. They use an education based model that’s designed for use within the school system to change students' views toward substance use. They have three different programs to use depending on your situation.

Behavioral Health Counseling

Their behavioral health services consist of crisis intervention and mental health counseling along with help for substance use intervention for youth and their families. They work to help improve your relationships at home, at school and within the community through individual, group and family counseling.

Multisystemic Family Therapy MST

I really like this program. It’s family focused and evidence based for 12 to 17 year olds living in Cook County who are struggling with social, emotional and academic problems, and they also address delinquency.

Specifically, they try to help with truancy and performance in school, aggressive behaviors, drug and alcohol abuse, criminal activity and people who show tendencies to run away. This can be a home based program that’s also available 24/7. I really love how they focus on trying to prevent you from being removed from your home or from getting involved with the juvenile justice system.

Payment Options

They’ll accept everyone regardless of your ability to pay. They take multiple types of insurance, as well as Medicaid and Managed Medicaid networks.
