About Youth Contact

Located in Hillsboro, Oregon, is Youth Contact. It’s a children's counseling nonprofit organization. The care team here works with children and teens who are experiencing behavioral health struggles. They also provide counseling support if your child is experiencing addictive tendencies or may be struggling with a substance use disorder.

As an educator, I value the understanding and individualized treatment children should receive when they're navigating a mental health struggle in their lives. I appreciate that this location recognizes this and provides comprehensive care to the children they serve. Through age appropriate programs your child will learn how to navigate their struggles thoughtfully and independently.

At the same time, they’ll learn critical skills like when to turn to family members and other trusted adults for support. Through this process, your child can begin a recovery process that will help them succeed.

There are also family counseling sessions that can help your child feel empowered, even within the family dynamic. These sessions allow your child to recognize that they are supported throughout the recovery process.

In some cases, if your child needs more robust services like residential treatment or specialize therapy, referrals can be made for those supports as well
