Located in the government center of Woodland, California, Watler’s House is a residential substance use treatment program for men and women operated by Fourth & Hope. They provide services to men and women in Yolo and Woodland County and accept out of county referrals from organizations such as the Veterans Administration. CARF has accredited them. They also accept MediCal.
A Day in Your Life at Walter’s House
A typical day of treatment at the facility starts at 6:30 a.m., where you’ll have breakfast, chores to do, and a morning group therapy session. You’ll have lunch and a group session in the afternoon before finishing your day in the evening with dinner and a final group session.
These group sessions will typically cover topics such as relapse prevention, stress management, causes of addiction and identifying triggers. These sessions will provide opportunities to learn from the experiences of your peers.
You’ll also be able to share your own experiences and receive support that can help you stay encouraged to maintain your sobriety. I like that as they provide you multiple group sessions, you’ll be able to feel less isolated and alone in your struggles with addiction.
Care That’s Close To Sacramento
Woodland is just a half hour outside of the city of Sacramento. I think that it’s great how you can make a quick day trip to see attractions such as the California State Railroad Museum or take a walk around Old Sacramento.
Flexibility in Your Length of Stay
One thing I noticed about this facility is that they don’t expect you to complete treatment within a certain time period. While it’s a 90 day program, your extended stay can be extended for a longer period of time based on your individual needs. The facility can also refer you to other locations if you have a serious mental illness interfering with your rehabilitation.
