About Yarmouth Comprehensive Treatment Center
The Yarmouth Comprehensive Treatment Center provides adults who are 18 years of age and older with outpatient treatment in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Treatment is provided for adults of all genders who are struggling with an opioid use disorder. They’re conveniently located near fast food restaurants and sit-down restaurants, as well as a main highway. JOhn Newcombe Memorial Stadium is just down the road.
Commercial insurance, Medicaid and Medicare are accepted. If you’re uninsured, you’ll be able to self pay for your treatment services. What stood out to me is that the facility is open seven days per week.
You’ll complete a thorough assessment before commencing treatment. A major requirement of theirs is that you must be substance free and in a 24-48 hours withdrawal state. The assessment will ask specific questions in regards to your substance use history, medical history, family history and your treatment goals. This helps the staff identify your specific needs so that a personalized treatment plan can be developed.
At this medication assisted treatment (MAT) facility, they’ll provide you with the medication methadone or buprenorphine, if deemed appropriate. These medications have been approved by the FDA to reduce your cravings and ease the physical symptoms of withdrawal. It’s also included in the World Health Organization’s list of essential medicines.
Along with MAT services, you’ll be attending counseling services. In individual counseling, you’ll reflect on how addiction has impacted your life. You’ll also learn to make changes that are healthy to support your recovery. In group counseling, you’ll develop relapse prevention strategies and practice health communication skills. They’ll also give you the opportunity to share experiences amongst your peers in a safe and judgement free environment.
