About Yale – Branford Adolescent Day Hospital

Yale Branford Adolescent Day Hospital is an outpatient mental health and substance use treatment provider in Branford, Connecticut, for adolescents. Connected to Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, the program offers intensive outpatient services designed for teens managing behavioral, emotional and substance-abuse challenges.

I've read client and parent reviews, stating a strong CBT-focused curriculum with supportive staff.

Adolescent Psychiatric & SUD Care

Yale Branford Adolescent Day Hospital serves adolescents ages 12 through 18 with a wide range of psychiatric concerns, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma, developmental disorders and disruptive behavior disorders. The program is designed for teens who need more support than standard outpatient care but do not require hospitalization.

The program centers on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) delivered in group therapy sessions, with a focus on skill-building for managing emotions, behaviors and substance use. Intensive family therapy is a core component, helping families support their teen's recovery and reintegration into home and school life.

I've found that the center provides an Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that runs Monday through Friday in an after-school format, allowing teens to continue their education while receiving care.

Accepted Insurance with Telehealth Options

Yale Branford Adolescent Day Hospital accepts BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Anthem, Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE and self-pay. You can contact the program directly for specific rate information.

Telehealth services are also available for eligible adolescents and families.
