About Women on the Way Recovery Center

The Women & Men On The Way organization provides gender specific addiction recovery services. Founded in 1995, Women on the Way Recovery Center offers a safe place for women seeking residential addiction treatment services in San Leandro, California.

You can pay for care with Medi Cal. They also offer some grant funded beds if you have limited financial means. You may also qualify for an income based sliding fee scale option.

Helping Women Heal

This residential treatment program has room for 18 women. I noticed that women can bring their children, which is great. The staff believes that women can help each other through supportive communities. They partner with local neighborhoods, churches and other organizations to help provide you with everything you need to succeed.

You can access assistance with finding adequate employment, higher education and a strong support network. They also help you reunite with your children and heal from previous traumas to promote lasting recovery.

Comfortable Residential Living

I like that the program provides a home away from home for women to work on their sobriety and mental health conditions. You’ll stay in dorm style accommodations with other women on similar paths. There are child friendly areas with communal living spaces and a kitchen. You’ll benefit from 24/7 supervision to feel secure and safe in this welcoming environment.

Partnering with the Courts

Their partnerships with the legal system also stood out to me. They work with probation, state parole and drug courts. They help you deal with past traumas and begin taking steps to address your mental health, substance use and criminal activity.

I like that upon completion of the program, they connect you with sober living homes or community based recovery programs. Case management is also available. You can access medical resources and additional mental health treatment referrals if necessary.
