About Willow House at The Meadows
Willow House at The Meadows, located in Wickenburg, Arizona, is a residential treatment program for adult women that addresses intimacy, trauma and relationship issues along with co-occurring substance use and mental health issues. The facility provides medical detox services as well as residential treatment.
The program accepts payment through insurance plans and self payment. I appreciate that they can help you work on payment options that fit your specific situation if your insurance doesn’t apply.
A Focus on Childhood Trauma
Willow House is part of Meadows Behavioral Healthcare, and all Meadows programs use an approach that’s unique to the organization. It focuses on how a lack of nurturing and safety in childhood can lead to codependency as an adult, which then fuels addictions, mental health concerns and even physical illness.
Through the treatment process, Willow House helps women understand their developmental history, emotional state and how their actions impact their present situation. From there, the team teaches residents that everyone is born valuable and gives them tools to describe their emotions and improve resilience. I think it’s fantastic that the program is aimed at helping women heal from trauma and change dysfunctional processes so they can overcome addiction and unhealthy relationships.
Treatment for Multiple Co-Occurring Disorders
The Willow House believes that the shame and insecurity that come from early trauma and unhealthy adult relationships can be the cause and fuel for a number of co-occurring disorders, such as drug and alcohol addiction, personality disorders and eating disorders. Part of the Willow House program is to address those issues alongside the underlying relational trauma and instability, with the goal of reducing symptoms as the root cause is addressed.
