About White River Academy

White River Academy is an inpatient facility for struggling teen boys between 12 and 18 years old. They are located in a quiet corner of Delta, Utah. Youth who are dealing with mental health, behavioral issues, or addiction issues can get therapeutic and experiential programming to combat these challenges. While they focus primarily on sex and pornography addiction, they can treat co-occurring chemical dependencies.

Admission in 24 Hours

The admission process has four simple steps. First, you’ll contact the admission teams and speak to a representative who is available 24/7. Your insurance benefits will be verified and your son will be prequalified for treatment. Next, you’ll complete some application forms and review an information packet. This will include legal documents and items to bring and leave at home.

You can review everything with the admissions team so that they can answer any questions you have. After the paperwork is processed, your son will be admitted to White River Academy.

One of the striking features at White River is their positive peer culture. White River Academy believes healing can be constructive and positive. A vital focus at this facility is community service. They work closely with the Delta community to provide client-engineered service projects that the boys can thrive in.

Another aspect of their program that I appreciate is the complementary interventions and techniques they offer. They teach students stress-management techniques and use equine-assisted therapy and mindfulness to self-regulate, problem solve, and use appropriate social skills.

Catch Up or Get Ahead in Academics

White Rivers is an accredited educational institution that meets rigorous standards for quality assurance. Their courses allow students to recover missing credits while still getting the skills needed for college.

I like that they run a year-round schedule with six terms. This lets boys earn 1.5 credits a year with a standard pace. Students may accelerate to earn more credits. The therapeutic program gives boys the chance to earn up to four academic credits. Students can graduate from White Rivers with a Utah diploma.
