About White Deer Run Of Allenwood

White Deer Run Allenwood is located in Allenwood, Pennsylvania. They provide detox and residential addiction treatment to men and women. They accept most major and commercial insurances, as well as funding sources.

The facility is located on 150 acres in the Bald Eagle State Forest. It’s also surrounded by serene mountains. They have a total of 264 beds available.

The main criteria they have is that you have to be 18 years of age or older. You must also be suffering from a substance use disorder. Although they are able to help you if you have a co-occurring mental health condition, your primary concern must be chemical dependency.

Before you can be accepted into the program, you have to take an assessment. You’ll provide them with all of your important background history like medical history, cravings, triggers and substance use history and frequency.

At White Deer Run, clients will progress through their individual treatment plan and get weekly updates. Treatment blends various proven practices like the 12 Step model of AA, reality and choice therapy, and motivational interviewing. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) using Revia and Vivitrol, methadone, Suboxone, and Sublocade injections.

The clinical staff will review the information you provided and determine if their program is the correct one for you. If their program is not the correct one for you, they can help you find appropriate placement elsewhere.

You may also take part in experiential therapy that may include aroma therapy, reiki, guided imagery, reflexology, tai chi, and an outdoor low ropes course. I like that they have so many different options so that you can find the things that work best for your needs.

A core part of your treatment will be group therapy sessions. You’ll be able to discuss topics that are helpful for your recovery with a group of others also on the same journey. These sessions are led by a professional who’ll facilitate the discussion. Some of the topics you’ll cover in group sessions include coping strategies, living skills, self-care, addiction as a disease. Gender specific issues are also discussed. You’ll get weekly individual sessions with your therapist to go deeper into your emotional work. You might also get family therapy.
