About Wheeler Health – Family Health & Wellness Center

Wheeler Clinic Family Health and Wellness Centers offers accredited behavioral health and addiction treatment to individuals ages 12 and older. This includes LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and families, regardless of their gender or ethnicity. Dual-diagnosis individuals and those with co-occurring mental health issues can also receive treatment here. Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial and state insurance providers are accepted. Sliding scale payment options are also available for those eligible. You'll find them out in Bristol, Connecticut.

Intensive outpatient services here typically involve individual, group, and family therapy to help clients get to the bottom of their addiction and any concurrent mental health issues they may have. Adult clients may also access medication assisted treatment here for opioid and alcohol addiction, if needed. This treatment typically features individual and group therapy, combined with a course of FDA-approved naltrexone, buprenorphine, and naloxone.

The center’s LifeLine program specifically supports women and their children who may be experiencing substance use and psychiatric disorders. Various physical and mental health assessments are also offered, along with addiction education sessions for participants, their children, partners and families, too.

They also offer another program called a PROUD Path to Recovery, which offers targeted substance abuse support to expectant mothers and postpartum individuals with infants under the age of one who are actively struggling with or may have a history of addiction or opioid use. This involves recovery coaching, prenatal health, parenting education, and additional support and referrals to community and social services.

They also offer same-day walk-in behavioral health services, with first-time evaluations taking place every week, Monday through Friday.
