About UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital
UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital’s Center for Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency Services is at 3501 Forbes Avenue in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. The center treats clients who are experiencing a substance use disorder (SUD). Additionally, they have an inpatient program in their network for clients with SUD and co-occurring (dual diagnosis) mental health disorders. If you’re concerned about payment, UPMC has a contract with Highmark, so most Highmark members have in-network access. They accept insurance from most other major providers as well.
Opioid Use Center of Excellence in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
This facility is a designated Center of Excellence (COE). The program ensures accessibility to treatment for clients with an opioid use disorder (OUD). If you have an OUD and have Medicaid, you can receive treatment at the clinic during the day Monday through Friday. I think it’s great that the clinic welcomes scheduled appointments as well as walk-ins, and they strive to create a warm, friendly environment.
The OUD treatment program offers individual counseling with a therapist on staff. I like that they have case management services, and clients have access to peer navigators.
Additionally, the COE offers integrated care for clients with SUD and co-occurring mental health disorders. Even if you’re already getting behavioral health services at one of the other UPMC clinics, you still have access to the COE for addiction treatment, and it won’t hinder other treatments.
