About Village South

The Village South, part of WestCare, provides substance abuse and mental health treatment for youth and adults. They’re based out in Pembroke Pines, Florida. They have residential services for women and women with children and also provide outpatient care for adults and youth in Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

I like that they offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) to help lessen withdrawal symptoms for those experiencing alcohol or opioid addiction. They use FDA-approved prescriptions to make clients more comfortable and potentially avoid relapse issues.

I noticed the outpatient treatment program can provide flexibility for those wanting to continue working or attending school. They also have psychiatric evaluations and medication management available for clients with mental health conditions.

Peer support services are there to supply a perspective from someone who has been in similar situations with addiction. They can help guide you through the program and connect you with other resources for continued recovery, like 12 Step meetings for ongoing accountability.

Case management provides continued support for outside agencies or resources for sobriety. Care managers can help with healthcare, insurance, housing, and transportation assistance so you can focus on healing. They also include care coordination to help with more recovery options after treatment.

They offer daycare services so that we can relax while in therapy meetings, knowing our children are safe and content.

WestCare works with the criminal justice system to assist with drug and family court services to reduce incarceration rates. They also have specialized services for veterans that address the unique needs of our military personnel.

The team is committed to diversity and respects all guests, providing a welcoming atmosphere for recovery. Off site, local greenspaces like Cinnamon Place Park and Forzano Park, offer a chance to unwind between sessions.
