About Wellness Group Youth and Family Services

Richmond, Virginia, is known for its rich historical sites and is also home to Wellness Group Youth and Family Services. They provide outpatient psychiatric and substance use treatment for youth and adults. The Wellness Group can also treat a dual diagnosis of mental health and addiction. They accept most insurance plans, and if you don’t have coverage, there is a sliding fee scale.

Outpatient Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment in Richmond

I noticed they have a range of mental health and addiction services, including group therapy, individual and family counseling, psychoeducation and substance use education. They also have life skills training and parenting classes. This helps clients prepare to live independently and productively during and after treatment.

There’s also a 24 hour crisis response team. They can help stabilize a situation that happens outside of treatment.

In-Home Services for Youth

Their Intensive In-Home Services also caught my eye. This program is for youth aged five to 17 who are at risk of being removed from their home due to behavioral, emotional and/or mental disorders.

In-Home Services provides targeted individual and family counseling, case management and behavioral management training. They also have classes on conflict resolution, anger management and other essential life skills.

An adult program in Virginia is often the ideal solution for individuals struggling with substance use. Care is available at different intensity levels, based on individual situations, and a variety of treatment methods are used, to meet each person’s unique needs.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

In an addiction treatment setting, cognitive behavioral therapy in Virginia is helpful because it targets triggers and helps individuals develop healthy coping skills. It focuses on changing thoughts and related behaviors. This is ideal for relapse prevention.

Senior Drug & Alcohol Rehab

Staff at an elderly rehab in Virginia are trained to provide addiction treatment for seniors. They are familiar with age-related disorders such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease as well as common challenges of aging, such as depression due to isolation.
