About Weingart Center

The Weingart Access Center is based in Los Angeles, California, and offers a variety of services to clients at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Services include mental health and substance use disorder treatment. Programs serve adults, the LGBTQ+ community, and there are some gender specific programs.

The center uses federal and government funding and accepts Medi-Cal. Many services are offered free through the nonprofit division, and they offer an income based sliding fee scale for eligible clients. The center is conveniently located downtown, sandwiched between the Arts District and the Grammy Museum.

A Vital Hub for Downtown Angelenos

The center provides a vital hub for homeless clients and those at risk of becoming homeless. I noticed that clients receive immediate assistance and long term support. Services are comprehensive and include educational opportunities, mail and housing and substance misuse treatment.

Integrated Wraparound Services

I think clients will appreciate the number of wraparound and integrated services the center offers. In addition to drugs and mental health care, clients can get medical care, help with reentry after incarceration, and case management services. One client noted that staffers “provided me with critical resources: a place to sleep, hot meals, and access to life-changing programs.”
