About Walter Hoving Home

Hoving Home is a nonprofit, residential discipleship home that serves women dealing with addiction, prostitution and court cases. They have 6 locations in the United States including one in the historic Playhouse district of Pasadena, California. This location is located in the historic 17,793 square foot Mira Monte Hotel.

Their program helps women rebuild their lives with a biblical foundation and they accept women of all denominations. They can serve 50 women at a time.

Pay What You Can For Recovery in Pasadena

Hoving Home fundraises to cover the cost of much of the fees needed to serve the women in their care. They put on a yearly golf tournament, fashion shop, walkathon and other special events. They also gratefully receive donations from individuals, churches, foundations and corporations.

Residents who can afford to pay a $1500 entrance fee. Each month, it costs $2900 for one client and so, this entrance fee is much less than even one more of tuition. Hoving Home works with folks who are unable to pay. No one is denied help if they don’t have the funds to contribute.

Helping Californians Overcome Destructive Lifestyles

I appreciate that The Hoving Home program focuses on providing a space that is warm, supportive and loving. They help women deal with anger, low self esteem, bitterness and other issues that led to their damaging choices.

I really like that they offer a career readiness program. This teaches women how to build a healthy work ethic. It prepares them for being a member of the workforce.
