About Volunteers of America, Utah – Men’s Detoxification Center

Recovery on Redwood is a men’s detox residential center that is part of Volunteers of America located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The organization runs seven days a week, 24 hours a day. They were also presented with the 2024 Candid platinum transparency seal.

Men have to be 18 years of age and older for the detox services. Another criteria is that they must have recently used drugs and/or alcohol and be in need of detox services.

Medicaid is accepted. If you are uninsured, you may be eligible for their low cost fee.

If you meet their criteria, then you will be able to stay for up to 30 days. You will be provided with three meals per day. During your detox stay, you will manage your withdrawal symptoms and intoxication to prepare you for long term recovery. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available when deemed appropriate.

Their detox program is client centered and non medical. Environment-wise it will be trauma informed and safe. You will attend 12 Step meetings and have access to peer support and case management.

I do like that you will have access to case management. The case managers coordinate your care and gather and provide you with the necessary resources. Once your detox stay is completed, and if you’re interested, you can be screened and assessed into an appropriate level of care program.
