About VOA Alaska
In the northwest downtown area of Anchorage, Alaska is Volunteers of America (VOA), a non-profit organization serving youth 12-24 years old.
VOA offers mental health services, substance abuse treatment, an intervention program, and case management services. VOA youth programs include outpatient and intensive outpatient programs, and a residential program for youth ages 14-18. Services are offered at low or no cost. Sliding fee scale discounts are available.
The length of stay in the VOA residential program is based on client needs. Treatment includes addiction and relapse prevention programming, psychiatric services, and on-site schooling. Residents take part in outdoor activities, music, sports, arts activities, and sober parties.
Standard Outpatient treatment incudes up to 6 hours per week of counseling and addiction and relapse prevention programming. The Intensive Outpatient program provides more than 6 hours per week of counseling and addiction and relapse prevention programming.
