About Volunteer Behavioral Health The Guidance Center Murfreesboro

Volunteer Behavioral Health helps adults struggling with substance misuse and co-occurring conditions through various recovery programs at their Murfreesboro Campus in Tennessee. They offer medical detox, intensive outpatient care (IOP), outpatient therapy (OP), counseling, and case management.

After your assessment and confirmation of your personalized treatment plan, you’ll probably start your recovery journey here with detox. Medical detox involves a carefully managed withdrawal procedure with 24/7 monitoring and support by the clinical team. They may administer meds to ease your withdrawal symptoms.

You can continue your recovery through their intensive outpatient program upon stabilization. This program uses clinically proven methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in a group setting. This model encourages positive thinking and behaviors to help you overcome challenges like substance misuse.

Group therapy inspires peer interaction, community support and engagement. Sharing wins and recovery challenges with peers with similar experiences improves your confidence.

You may also acquire interpersonal skills like managing anger, communicating effectively and solving. This helps enhance your coping skills, prevent relapse and maintain sobriety. Sessions are held three hours daily three days a week. Psychiatric medication management services may also be provided to support folks with co-occurring conditions. The program takes 12 weeks and 36 group sessions to complete.

Aftercare may involve stepping down to their outpatient program. This focuses on helping you develop the life skills necessary to maintain a healthy and recovery oriented lifestyle. The program may include individual, group and family counseling. Individual counseling with a licensed counselor offers a great avenue to explore your thoughts and tackle personal challenges fueling substance misuse.

Family counseling strengthens your support network by mending relationships and improving communication with loved ones. I like that they offer telehealth support which allows you to access therapy from the comfort of your home.

Their care management services may involve case coordination and connection to community resources that support your recovery. This includes housing support, job placement and medical care. They even facilitate access to clothing, food and transportation. Your case managers will check in on you regularly to track your progress, adjust your treatment plan and help you overcome any social barriers. The facility may offer ongoing care to support your lasting recovery.
