About Village Behavioral Health Treatment Center

Village Behavioral Health Treatment Center is a residential treatment program for adolescents struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. This facility sits at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains near Knoxville in Louisville, Tennessee. This location is helpful for adolescents to begin facing their difficulties without distractions. The center has been helping teens aged 13 to 17 find hope and direction for lasting recovery for over eight years. Specialized recovery programming is available for children aged 10 to 13, called the “Nova Program.”

The adolescent program helps teens understand how their past choices have affected them. This is so they can start making better decisions moving forward. The facility offers a safe, secure and serene setting where healing can truly begin.

This program is grounded in the 12 Step model and follows a personalized care plan based on your assessed needs at intake. At intake you automatically become members of a cabin group to support each other and grow during treatment. You’ll start your treatment within the 12 Step model and engage in on-campus groups. The facility offers around the clock supervision and intense therapy sessions. These include group, individual and family sessions as well as activity therapy.

You’ll also take part in a program that helps with life skills and daily tasks alongside a full academic curriculum. Family involvement is essential for lasting change, and the program emphasizes active participation of the family in treatment. You’ll also join a relapse prevention program and get support to take charge of your struggles with substance use and addiction.

The Nova program ensures each child gets personalized care tailored to their unique needs and age. It has a strong academic focus. The kids can attend The Village Academy to continue their education while in treatment. They’ll attend daily group therapy sessions to learn healthy coping strategies, relationship-building and anger management. Effective communication and substance use prevention strategies are taught as well.

The kids will also engage in daily recreational and equine therapy as well as weekly individual and family therapy sessions. Every child gets support from a caring team that works closely with them and their family to create the best chance for success. Kids are expected to leave the program with better self-esteem, stronger relationship skills and improved emotional management.
