Valley Behavioral Health offers an intensive residential treatment program specifically for women with severe and persistent mental illnesses, including co-occurring issues dealing with substance abuse. This program is called Core 2, and it’s located in Salt Lake City, Utah. One good thing about the program that I noticed is that they offer 24-hour supervision and support 7 days a week. Their mental health treatment covers issues such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe depression, and PTSD.

A Breakdown of their Services

They also offer individual therapy and group therapy to help women develop their coping skills and learn how to regulate their emotions during recovery. This is also a good way to find peer support and benefit from that too.

They even offer medication management and have psychiatric professionals who can help oversee and adjust your medications based on your pace of recovery. Life skills training is always something that I personally find helpful because it helps you learn independence and to take care of yourself, as well as giving you tips on social interactions and daily responsibilities.

I think they also do a good job of helping you integrate into the community and slowly transition you into less intensive settings as you become more ready for the task.
