About Valley HealthCare System
Valley Healthcare System - ACT Unit Residential Treatment for Men is located in Fairmont, West Virginia. At this facility men with a primary diagnosis of substance use disorder are able to receive treatment and address their specific needs. The center accepts Medicare and Medicaid. A sliding fee scale is available for individuals without insurance.
Your initial intake assessment will take between 60 and 90 minutes. You will answer a variety of questions pertaining to your addictive behaviors, mental health symptoms, medical history, family, goals and strengths.
I like that your treatment plan is developed with your specific needs in mind. Your therapist is going to work with you so that you can achieve your desired goals. The length of your treatment can be from a few days up to six months. Your diagnosis and your own recovery assessment are what determine your length of stay.
I like that they encourage open and honest communication in both individual and group therapy. This will help set the groundwork for your healing. By being open and honest, you will also be able to take a look at the impact that substance use has had on your life.
During treatment, you will also be able to address any anger you may have. They will help you learn ways to manage that anger so that it does not turn into violence or substance abuse. You will also talk about what your triggers are and learn life skills to overcome those triggers.
If at any point you start having withdrawal symptoms or strong cravings, medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available. Towards the end of your treatment stay, you will speak to your case manager and go over your long term plan for sobriety.
