About Urban Recovery
Urban Recovery is in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. They offer short term residential addiction treatment and detox services for adults. They specialized in opioids, benzodiazepines, and alcohol detox. The short term residential treatment program is for people finishing detox who want to receive more support. This program generally lasts seven days. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is used to help with detox and sustain recovery. The values of Urban Recovery are empathy, honesty, respect, and safety.
During detox, a medical team will help you safely and comfortably rid your body of harmful substances. You’ll receive symptom management and medications like Suboxone and Vivitrol.
During group and individual counseling, you’ll experience Seeking Safety which is a present focused therapy that helps people recover from substance abuse and trauma. Through this approach you’ll learn how to achieve safety in your relationships, behavior, and thinking.
To reduce the risk of relapse, Urban Recovery offers a short term residential program that includes 24 hour medical care and 35 hours of counseling over seven days. Counselors use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to interrupt and change negative thinking patterns. You’ll learn healthy coping skills and how to navigate self destructive behaviors.
I appreciate that this facility also considers the impact mental health struggles like PTSD and depression can have on your recovery. You’ll work closely with your counselors to determine if there are other treatments that can help support you as well.
Happy clients say that Urban Recovery is more than just a treatment center, it’s a place where you go to rediscover yourself. Another person said this environment is serene and supportive. They said attending Urban Recovery was one of the best decisions they’ve made.
