About Union Gospel Mission of Salem Men’s Mission

Union Gospel Mission Men's Mission - Salem, Oregon is a unique facility dedicated to supporting men overcoming addiction, homelessness, and poverty. They provide an 18 month Christian drug and alcohol recovery program designed to help you rebuild your life with spiritual and practical support. You’ll find comprehensive services including education, housing assistance, and medical care all provided free of charge.

We like that they combine recovery with community through chapel services twice daily. What we notice most about them is their commitment to holistic healing, focusing on your physical, mental, and spiritual wellness. This approach creates an extra special environment where you can find hope and purpose.

Recovery Programs Designed for Your Healing

Their New Life Fellowship Program exists to guide you through a structured recovery with emphasis on overcoming destructive behaviors. If you’ve been recently released from incarceration then their Transitions Reentry Program can help you find housing, employment, and education opportunities. We also find it excellent that you can also gain access to a learning center with GED preparation and adult education to support your personal growth.

Comfort and Community Space

The facility offers a large dayroom, library, computer lab, and chapel to support your recovery and personal development. You have access to emergency shelter beds and recovery classrooms tailored to your needs. This space fosters a supportive community where you are never alone in your process.

Enjoy Salem’s Local Highlights

After your appointments, you can relax at Riverfront Park or explore Bush’s Pasture Park with its gardens and walking trails. The Willamette Heritage Center offers a peaceful setting for reflection and learning. Don’t forget the nearby Salem Public Library which is a quiet place for studying and personal development.

Addiction Treatment Programs

Drug Rehab

Drug rehab in Oregon offers a full continuum of care for those struggling with addiction. From detox, to inpatient, to outpatient, to aftercare, Oregon residents can find the support they need for recovery. This treatment empowers individuals to replace drug use with positive alternatives and develop a healthier lifestyle.

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is an integrative, community-based care strategy designed to address the needs of persons with severe and/or complex mental illness or behavioral disorders. ACT is typically provided by a multidisciplinary team of medical and mental health care providers, social workers, therapists, and other specialists, including addiction recovery professionals. These services are frequently provided in the home and community to clients in crisis, those who are clinically unstable, and those who are unable or unwilling to travel to a hospital or clinic for in-person treatment.

Levels of Care

Inpatient Rehab

For those who need a highly supervised drug rehab in Oregon, inpatient rehab offers 24/7 clinical care. You’ll live at the drug rehab facility while participating in various forms of individual and group therapy, along with other evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches.

Sober Living

After rehab treatment, sober living in Oregon offers a stable environment for those who don’t feel ready to live on their own. In a sober living home, you’ll agree to follow house policies, abstain from alcohol and drug use, and attend 12-step meetings. You can stay as long as you want, as long as you continue following all house rules.
