Comprehensive SUD Treatment
Since UAB has a full medical center on campus, the Community Psychiatry Program offers an integrative health approach through the REACT program. This ensures that someone receiving addiction treatment can also have their physical health needs and social services met at the same location. Core complementing services include medication management for co-occurring disorders, and comprehensive counseling.
A Collaborative Outpatient Program
UAB’s outpatient program allows for a variety of evidence-based therapies to be applied that are customized to each patient’s needs. Counseling is provided in individual, group and family sessions to ensure that people have the support that they need. If acute services are needed, they can refer you to their center on Beacon Parkway.
Likewise, aftercare is provided to ensure that patients are able to effectively reintegrate into the community, and can connect with critical resources that will maintain their sobriety and help them function independently.
UAB’s Community Psychiatry Program accepts a variety of insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid, and offers a sliding fee scale for uninsured individuals based on demonstrated financial need.
