About Turning Point Center for Youth and Family
The Turning Point Center for Youth and Family Services provides adolescents with outpatient services in Fort Collins, Colorado. The organization is LegitScript certified. Their center has a Tudor facade, which adds a touch of warmth and a homey atmosphere to put their young clients at ease.
Medicaid and private pay are accepted. They will not turn anyone away due to inability to pay. They offer a sliding fee scale and qualifying families may receive grant funding.
If you have an adolescent between the ages of 13-17 years old, they can participate in the adolescent intensive outpatient program (IOP). The program has been designed to help support the youth and their families that are facing mental health and substance use challenges. A specialized dual diagnosis treatment program is available to address co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders at the same time.
Your teen will still be able to attend their school and family commitments, thanks to a flexible evening schedule. The length of the program is 12 weeks. They’ll attend sessions two days per week, for three hours per session. They keep group therapy small in numbers. By keeping it small, the staff is able to ensure peer connection and individual attention. Family and individual therapy will be on an as needed basis or when requested.
The care team will consist of therapists, counselors and educators. They all have extensive experience with adolescent substance use and mental health treatment. To ensure that your teen receives effective treatment for a positive outcome, they use proven therapeutic approaches.
What I like about the program is that the therapists and counselors focus on addressing the specific needs and issues that are affecting your teen. They have family coaches, a program just for boys, and classes for DUIs. They’ll use a variety of techniques, depending on individualized needs such as family therapy, mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
