About Trinitys Homer Perkins Center
Trinity’s Homer Perkins Center is part of the nonprofit Trinity Alliance of the Central Region. The center is located on 2nd Street in Albany, New York, and is a residential treatment program for adult men 18 and older. You must be a resident of New York State to be eligible for the program as well as meet other admission criteria, including homelessness.
One of the things I like about this organization is the diversity of the leadership team. The staff reflects the community they’re serving. They work to make bold policy and strategic changes at the community level.

The nonprofit has four divisions, one of which is alternatives to incarceration. This division has substance use treatment, violence prevention, a jail based cognitive behavioral program, and an arrest diversion program. Their programs are designed to serve those in the community who are economically challenged and those with deficient housing, particularly refugees and people of color.
Diverse Health & Wellness Support
One of the great things about the program is that the clients at Homer Perkins Center have access to multiple Trinity Alliance programs which ensures that residents get full wraparound services. Clients can get referrals to HIV/AIDS counseling, work readiness programs, life skills training and parenting classes. There are health and wellness services, support services and community based services. Residents are given the skills they need to reintegrate and become productive members of the community.
