About Third Way Center

Located in Denver, Colorado, Third Way Center provides residential and outpatient treatment services for youth ages 14 to 21 with mental health and substance use disorders. They also run two alternative high schools and administer vocational skills training and emancipation programs.

Third Way Center offers help to youth who have failed at multiple other placements. They accept Medicaid coverage and may also be able to take other insurance plans as well.

Residential Substance Use Treatment for Youth

Treatment for youth with addiction concerns is available at Third Way’s residential substance use treatment center. They provide comprehensive evaluations and work with residents to identify the specific trauma that they have endured that causes them to behave the way they do.

One thing I really loved about this program is they don’t just identify what happened. They help youth get a form of justice for the hurt, which is a unique process for each individual. Residents are also able to attend state approved alternative high school programs that have small class sizes that allow for individualized attention.

Developing Vocational Skills and Independent Living

The goal of Third Way is to ensure teens are ready to live independently when they finish the program. Part of that is providing job skills training through both paid and voluntary work, along with help with creating resumes and interviewing.

The development of these skills can help clients be more likely to obtain stable employment and have more confidence in their long term recovery. I like that clients also receive assistance finding stable housing and support with establishing healthy routines.
