About Boro Park Counseling Center – Closed

The Boro Park Counseling Center (BPCC) used to be one of the locations where adults and children would be able to access the Jewish Board’s outpatient mental health and substance use counseling services. Once located in the central part of the Borough Park neighborhood of New York City, New York, they provided accessible and culturally sensitive services to patients facing mental health or substance use issues. Their offices also served as a connection point to the Board’s broader healthcare and social services.

Personalized and Effective Outpatient Services

Their outpatient care gave everyone equitable access to treatments that were effective in both dealing with addictions as well as co-occurring conditions and contributing factors. Their team of trained clinicians would take a therapeutic approach that was tailored to your specific needs, and was equipped to accommodate individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds, including those speaking Spanish as a first language.

What I liked about their services was they treated addictions from both the clinical and counseling angles. This included evidence-based therapies for substance use disorders, depression, anxiety and a variety of other diagnoses, as well as individual, group and family counseling sessions. Where applicable, they could also offer medication assisted treatment as part of a person’s care plan.

Working With the Jewish Board

Although the BPCC location is no longer in operation, I noticed the Jewish Board still offers many of these services at various other locations dotted around Brooklyn and Manhattan. Their services are accessible to those using Medicare or Medicaid to cover fees, and offer discounted fees to uninsured and underinsured individuals.
