About The Haven Of Rest Ministries
Located in Battle Creek, Michigan, The Haven of Rest Ministries is a religious organization providing food, shelter and recovery programs. Specifically serving the unhoused population, The Haven offers emergency shelter for 30 to 60 days with daily meals. Specialized programs exist for veterans, for adults struggling with substance abuse and for adults with mental disabilities. Counselors at The Haven provide connections to transitional housing, medical care and legal assistance.
The Women’s Life Recovery Program is a six to 12 month program designed for women with or without children to overcome their addictions. Days are structured with individual and group therapy sessions, spiritual counseling and physical fitness. If you’re a mom, while you attend life skills classes or counseling, your kids can attend the children’s ministry. Kids will receive homework assistance, faith based lessons and school advocacy.
The Men’s Life Recovery Program is a year long three phase program designed to help homeless men navigate addiction and self defeating behaviors. Treatment includes group and individual counseling with life skills planning in multiple areas of life. Sessions cover vocational training, literacy, critical thinking, spirituality and socialization. Once you graduate from the Life Recovery Program, you’ll be invited to be part of the Life Recovery Fellowship.
The Haven also has a 30 day short term shelter called Inasmuch House that is for single women or one or two parent families.
A former resident said they met a lot of great people in this program and stayed friends with them for life. Another person said the staff is truly wonderful and cares about all the residents.
