About The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD Southwest Clinic
The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD Southwest Clinic is one location of a broad community service organization in Houston, Texas. They have locations throughout the Houston area but this is their administrative building as well as an outpatient treatment center for addiction and mental health.
The treatment programs here for substance use disorder are holistic which means they treat you as a whole person and address all of your needs rather than just treating your addiction as if it’s one isolated issue. So on top of treating your addiction, they’ll help you with other needs that will affect your recovery like stable housing and medical care.
Your treatment will be tailored to you and what you need for a strong recovery. They’ll start out with an assessment where they can determine the best level of care for your treatment. While this location has outpatient addiction counseling the organization does have residential rehab and detox at other locations. Don’t worry about finding the right location though because they’ll set you up with a case manager who will work with you to plan your treatment and get you everything you need.
Since this facility has psychiatric treatment on top of substance abuse treatment they can be a great choice if you have co-occurring disorders. This treatment center also has court-ordered addiction treatment with their assisted outpatient treatment. They have primary healthcare here too and children’s services along with services for intellectual disabilities and autism.
While there’s positive and negative feedback about this treatment center most clients say they’re happy with their treatment here. They largely say that the therapists are helpful and kind although some do have complaints about reception and administrative staff like not getting calls back or having difficulty with scheduling.
