Extended Residential Treatment in Mountville
What I liked about this program is that it seems to be a combination of a recovery house program and a residential treatment program. They provide assessments, personalized treatment planning and evidence based individual, group and family therapy.
They also require attendance at 12 Step groups and deliver life skills classes and employment readiness services. Residents are also required to complete assigned chores, participate in house meetings and be present for dinner each evening. Their houses feature cable, high speed internet, and fresh meals.
A Three Phase Program
I saw that the program has three phases. In the first phase, you can have onsite visitors and walk to designated places accompanied by peers or staff. You can get passes to go to meetings, court hearings, doctor appointments and other care.
In the second phase you can get 12 hour passes for the weekend and you start to look for a job and start working. You can leave the house during the week for work, job searching or meetings without peers or staff.
In the final phase you can get two 23 hour passes for the weekend and you gain increased independence. You sign in and out with a log book and can have a cell phone full time. You can also have a car for work and meetings.
Once you complete the program you can transition into outpatient treatment and transitional living offered by The GateHouse, or you may feel ready to take advantage of housing support and community resources to live independently.
