About The Commitment House

The Commitment House is a CARF-accredited facility with several locations in Kentucky, including their original location in Elizabethtown. This residential rehab facility can house 37 men. Their clients use multiple substances and often also have physical or mental health disorders. Their goal is to give non- judgmental care to all their clients. They accept most insurance providers and have self-pay options for those without coverage.

Their detox program is the first step for most clients who are determined to make a change. After they’ve successfully stabilized, they move to residential treatment. This 28-30 day period of time helps clients learn about addiction and get the tools and skills for life-long recovery. You aren’t permitted visitors or cell phones during this portion of care so you can focus on your recovery. However, there is a landline telephone that you can use for 10 minute phone calls if you request it the day before. Each resident will have access to a locker for their personal belongings. You should bring a medium-sized lock with you when you are admitted.

After residential treatment, you’ll step down to transitional care. You’ll still have access to support 24/7 and will continue to join in 12 Step meetings. You’ll attend group sessions Monday through Friday and get case management and peer support. This phase lasts about four weeks.

Next is their partial hospitalization program (PHP). At this stage, you’ll live in a sober environment and get 24-hour supervision. You’ll attend counseling and support groups throughout this phase which lasts up to six weeks. During this stage, you have access to your cell phone and begin to live a normal, sober lifestyle.
