About The Center at 353
The Center at 353 is a licensed, independent nonprofit mental health agency serving the greater Princeton, New Jersey community since 1968.
It provides evidence based psychotherapy for children and adolescents, adults and seniors of all faiths and backgrounds.
Formerly known as Trinity Counseling Service, the Center believes no one should be turned away because they cannot afford counseling.
Trauma Informed Counseling
The Center's core strength is compassionate, trauma informed mental health care delivered by licensed clinicians trained in multiple therapeutic modalities.
Many providers are certified clinical trauma professionals and trained in EMDR, offering support in person and virtually.
In sessions, clinicians help clients address grief, life transitions and emotional challenges while working through underlying trauma at a comfortable pace.
I like that care is personalized, with a licensed intake coordinator matching each client to an appropriate clinician or providing referrals when needed.
Community Programs and Specialized Support
Beyond general counseling, the Center offers targeted programs including a Childhood Intervention Initiative for low income families, a Bereavement and Caregivers Program, and community outreach and prevention education.
It also provides psychological and psychoeducational testing, along with evaluations for ministry candidates across several states.
Next Steps
The Center at 353 offers in person services from its renovated building, plus secure virtual care throughout the greater Princeton area. I think it's noteworthy that this long standing nonprofit has served the community for over five decades.
The Center accepts Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare and Princeton Theological Seminary insurance, processes out of network claims, and offers sliding scale and grant funded care.
