They also have a variety of community partnerships with local social service agencies to ensure continuity of care. This location focuses on treating children and adolescents up to the age of 21.
The Brien Center has therapy, psychiatric care, and substance abuse treatment and prevention programs. Treatment plans are individualized and evidence-based. They treat a range of child and adolescent disorders including trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorder and ADHD. Services can be provided through the intensive home-based therapeutic care program, home-based therapy and youth therapeutic day service.
The therapeutic day program is provided after school for kids aged five through 18. This program is for kids who may have severe emotional disturbances, mental illness, or substance use disorder. During this treatment, you’ll engage in group and individual counseling, behavior management and crisis management.
The home-based therapy program offers intensive structured outreach counseling in order to stabilize a child’s behavior. Family therapy and mentoring are used to stabilize mental health symptoms and reduce the chance of out-of-home placement. Behavioral therapy used during these visits includes Applied Behavioral Analysis.
