About The Bradley Center

The Bradley Center is a nonprofit therapeutic school and residential treatment facility located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They serve children and teens (6-18) who have mental illnesses, traumas and behavioral challenges. The facility offers a variety of programs that support learning, growth and healing, including some outpatient and onsite programs in the community.

The facility accepts private insurance, Medicaid, and other state funded health plans, as well as funding from local sources. Although substance use treatment is not the center’s advertised specialty, the staff works with youth who have mental health and behavioral health issues, which often include co-occurring substance use disorders.

Integrating Education and Therapy

The residential center provides tailored treatment for each child, depending on their unique challenges. I think the great thing about this center is the integration of treatment with academic education. Kids don’t fall behind in school while getting the mental health treatment they need to thrive.

Transformative Programs

The school reports that 93% of all students in the program have improved behavior. I noticed that the class sizes are 12 or fewer, so kids get the attention they need. Testimonials mention the individualized attention, supportive, caring staff and the transformative changes seen as a result of the program.
