About Tennessee Rehabilitation Center Clarksville
The Tennessee Rehabilitation Center is located in Clarksville, Tennessee. Initially located in a small building on Corporate Parkway Boulevard, this center has relocated to Madison Street in Clarksville.
When their prior location was open, they offered different academic services to young adults who had a disability that might have kept them from being successful in a traditional secondary education setting, including physical, developmental, or psychological challenges.
The focus of this organization was to help qualified students obtain gainful employment through different vocational training services. Among the vocational programs offered through Tennessee Rehabilitation Centers (which operate statewide) include automotive, healthcare, business administration, and other highly sought-after job roles.
Finding Steady Work
What stood out to me with this rehabilitation center was that young adults with special needs had access to high quality programs that could change the trajectory of their lives.
This program helps clients overcome the stigma of not feeling “good enough” due to their physical, intellectual, emotional, or behavioral disability. There is no set milestone you need to reach before you can begin pursuing the next milestone in your life such as developing the skills for a rewarding career. The program meets clients where they are and helps them on the unique journey to where they want to be.
As you work through your program, you’ll be reminded by the care team that you are “good enough” and ready to take on the next chapter of your life.
Mental Healthcare
At the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center, there are mental health services including psychiatric and behavioral health services that allow you to address tangible struggles you may face in your daily life, education and career.
Also, because this organization is state-run by the Tennessee Department of Human Services, another benefit, I think, is that if you need more specialized or intentional support you will be connected to it. This may include access to specialized programs to help you overcome substance use or mental health struggles. The Department of Human Services has partnerships with various state and local agencies to help you access the care you need.
